Understanding psychotic disorders
Patients diagnosed with psychosis experience changes in the areas of consciousness, perception, thinking, and behavior. In the state of psychosis, thinking and functioning are disorganized. The most common symptoms of psychotic disorders are delusions and hallucinations. Often these symptoms are accompanied by severe anxiety.
Psychotic disorders include schizophrenia.
